In a luxurious 18K white gold rectangular case with 44 x 34 mm dimensions, the Serenade 5850 features a gorgeous dial decorated with 18K white gold numerals. While the majority of two time zone watches mark the second location with just another hand concentric to the hour and minutes hands, the Serenade goes the extra distance in both functionality and design. An elegantly designed skeletonized blue second time zone hand links to a day-night indicator at 9 o’clock so there isn’t any guessing whether or not it’s 12 o’clock in the afternoon or it’s midnight. Another day-night indicator at 3 o’clock for the first time zone adds convenience as well as balancing out the design.
The white disk in the corresponding windows indicate daytime, while the blue disks indicate nighttime. Every detail is considered with convenience in mind. A pusher on left side of case at 10 o’clock clicks the skeletonized second time zone hand into the correct position so you can adjust the hour before you leave for the airport or as the jet’s wheels touch down on the ground. Conveniently, the date at 6 o’clock orients you to which day you’re in because what use is the time if you’ve got the date wrong.
While sometimes watches with a lot of complications on the dial can come off as messy and hard to read, the layout here is easy on the eyes to catch the desired information at a glance — which is the ideal situation. The Gevril Serenade 5850 is limited to 50 pieces and comes with a Louisiana crocodile bracelet with an 18K gold deployment clasp buckle.
